Obama Blames Fellow Democrats for the Flooding in Midwest
From The McCain Report
A Flood of Hypocrisy in Miami
Today Senator Obama blamed John McCain for the flooding in the Midwest:
And just the other day, Senator McCain traveled to Iowa to express his sympathies for the victims of the recent flooding. I'm sure they appreciated the sentiment, but they probably would have appreciated it more if he hadn't voted against funding for levees and flood control programs, which he seems to consider pork.
It's an absurd charge. John McCain voted to prioritize work on the very levees that failed in this flooding, Obama voted against that amendment. John McCain worked in bipartisan fashion with Senators Feingold and McCaskill to get the measure passed. Obama voted the party line. McCaskill also happens to be a national co-chair on Obama's campaign, and a Democratic Senator from one of the states most effected by the flooding. If Obama really believes that John McCain is responsible for the flooding in Iowa, it follows that McCaskill and Feingold are as well. In fact, the blame lies with those who voted for a bill that was described by Time magazine when it first passed as,
"a lousy bill, stuffed with more pork than Sonny's Barbecue, coddling a dysfunctional agency, perpetuating a dysfunctional system...[it] just sets the stage for future Katrinas.”
-------------------------------------------------------
This is just further evidence of Obama's lack of experience and spouting off without checking in to the details. Here, he has even maligned his fellow democrat senators. As Goldfarb pointed out, Claire McCaskill is from Missouri and co-chair on Obama's campaign.
Is this the kind of judgement and decision making that makes a president? Could Obama make the same kind of inflammatory remarks while dealing with foreign leaders? That type of mistake could cost this nation dearly when it comes to our foreign policy objectives. I don't believe that a lot of world leaders would have the same amount of patience with Barack Obama that he seems to receive from his supporters and the MSM. They may take advantage of his ignorance though and where does that leave us?
The devil is in the details.Learning, understanding, and knowing how to use the details is something that seems to have escaped Obama's abilities.
