McCain Set to Launch 'Time for Action' Tour in Alabama - 4/21/08
Sen. John McCain will be in Alabama today, making multiple stops as he launches his "Time for Action Tour," visiting places in America that need focus and attention for specific needs and issues. Here are the details on today's events, and where McCain stands in Alabama polling:
Presumptive Republican Nominee John McCain launches his national "Time for Action Tour." The campaign says McCain will target areas candidates overlook.
McCain will make a total of five stops in Alabama including Selma, Gee's Bend, Thomasville, Birmingham, and Homewood. After a visit to West Alabama, Senator McCain will return to Birmingham for two separate events. One of which will be held here at Homewood’s Soho Square. The Arizona Senator will be stopping at Homewood City Hall's Rosewood Hall for an open event at 7 tonight. The event is hosted by Alabama Leadership for John McCain; a young professionals event.
Tickets for the reception are going for one hundred dollars. McCain will also make a stop at the Sheraton ballroom where tickets for that reception are will cost one thousand dollars and up.McCain will start his Alabama visit this morning in west Alabama at 9 a.m. He will be in Selma at the Edmund Pettus Bridge and then at 2 p.m. he will be stopping at Alabama Southern Community College in Thomasville before flying to Birmingham.
The most recent "Rasmussen Reports" poll for Alabama shows Senator McCain leads both Democrats. McCain held an 18-point lead over Senator Barack Obama and an 11-point advantage over Senator Hillary Clinton. The survey of 500 voters was conducted April second.
