Fox News: Palin Talks to Media (No, Not That One)
Sarah Palin still hasn’t addressed the media traveling with her yet, but she did address Media, Pennsylvania today, a suburb of Philadelphia. Clad in a red leather jacket-–possibly a motorcycle jacket–she introduced her running mate and unveiled a gift for him. A motorcycle to commemorate his service as a prisoner of war in Vietnam made by the Orange County Choppers, “Before we go to Washington to shake things up, we have a special surprise for Senator McCain. Today we have a very special veteran with us—Paul Teutul. Paul is a Vietnam veteran and the founder of the Orange County Choppers, a custom motorcycle company,” Palin said, “And they built, you guys, they built a special bike honoring all POWs and Vietnam vets and they brought it by to give Senator McCain a chance to see it up close.”
The Alaska governor told the excited crowd–also dressed in red–that a McCain-Palin administration would be more transparent and pledged her support for putting the details of which financial companies are being bailed out and the cost to the taxpayer online:
“John McCain and I want reform. We want transparency in Washington. As the governor of Alaska I did things like put the state’s checkbook online so that everybody could see where the money was being sent. We want to do the same thing in D.C. John wants to do the same thing with the treasury deal,” Palin said. “We believe that the American people have the right to know which firms the treasury is helping and what that selection is based on and how much that help will cost you. It’s your money and you do have a right to know where it’s going.”
