Hate Based Voting: A reflection on the use of hatred by the Obama campaign

The peace candidate has a secret weapon and it is Hate. Each time Barack ties McCain to Bush he pours gasoline on the hatred of Bush. The fire, however, is meant to burn John McCain.
Bushwacking has become a cottage industry. Film makers, book sellers, newspapers, and pundits have spent the last four years making a living off of the hatred that has gathered around Bush. The more hatred gathers, the more money they make. Is it any wonder that former Bush administration members are selling out with anti-Bush books?
I am not going to argue the obvious fact that Bush doesn't deserve the pillory he is getting. What I am going to argue is that Obama is very aware of how he is using the hatred for Bush to propel himself into the White House.

Does Barack have a single issue left of his original campaign? He isn't the anti-war candidate anymore. He says he the Change candidate but the only thing that he really is focused on changing is the political party in charge of the White House.

One thing John McCain needs to say the next time Obama mentions Bush in a debate is "Barack, have you noticed yet that I am not George Bush?".

Why does it matter? Crazy Bush haters are not news to anyone reading this blog. It matters because Obama is appealing to pure hatred rather than argue issues. He keeps pointing backward, because he knows very well, John McCain's record has very little in common with George Bush.
Obama has succesfully obscured the fact that Democrats have been in control of both Houses for two years. Obama has successfully obscured the fact that his party and his backers are more interested in the kind of vicious political blame game that Nancy Pelosi loves than they are in really changing or fixing anything.
What they really want is payback. They still fanatically hold on to the delusion that Gore won eight years ago.

Why does it matter?
Lets forget the fact that Obama sat in a church for years where the leader spouted a kind of hatred that is usually associated with Nazis. Lets forget about the fact that Obama had a close friend in the liberal hate group known as the Weathermen.
Lets go along with the notion that both these issues are not relevant in this election.
Lets also ignore the attempts to suggest that John McCain is fanning racist fires and that a vote against Obama is racist.
All of it, we can bite our tongues and just pretend its not important. We aren't like them. We aren't haters.
There is one thing we should not ignore however, and that is just the simple fact that Obama is running on a platform of hate.
I just don't think we need a president who has so little integrity that he would allow such hatred to motivate his campaign.
Another thing I'd love to hear John say in the next debate: "Barack, I know you don't think much of George Bush, but do you really hating Mr Bush qualifies you to be President?"
