What should have been a plus for Obama will turn out to be a zero net gain. I say this because, as has been pointed out, he has already made up his mind about Iraq. He is only going now because McCain told him to! LOL

Like you, I am curious to see how he is received by the troops. I am sure he has some supporters amongst the troops, but I would be interested in a comparison between Obama's crowds and McCain's crowds. If you subtract the 200 reporters from the equation, how many are left? :)

Seriously, I think his numbers will go down fast after the trip, even without a gaffe on his part.

With ALL major network anchors going with Obama, this thing is gonna backfire. The intention is to give Obama all this news coverage and he'll be all over the news broadcasts. But...how obvious will it look to us that the network media is in the tank for Obama? Especially if they don't ask any tough questions. How are they going to as tough questions if they are riding in the plane with him?!?

Also, this trip is taxpayer funded I hear, but it appears to be more like campaigning overseas. How will that sit with people? Also, why take the trip at all if Obama laid out his Iraq policy Before actually going there? So why go? PHOTO-OP on taxpayers money. This could bury him should people wake up and see this guy for what he really is. Many of his supporters are backing a symbol, not a presidential candidate. Some may figure that out after this trip.

I'm very curious to see how the German people take the pure chutzpa of an American presidential candidate holding a campaign rally at the Brandenburg Gate. As the Chancellor pointed out, it would be like a German candidate holding a rally at the Lincoln Memorial. And I wonder who's going to pay for the security and clean-up. Maybe Germans won't worry about that, but....

And the possibility for cartoons when he arrives in France saying "merci bow coupe" could finally make late-night comics unshy about poking some holes in his holier than any other image. Really. He and his handlers are so beyond arrogant, I wouldn't support him if I agreed with him on every issue. Prince Potus is beyond irritating. And, BTW, did ya'll notice that Princess Flotus has been sent home? To protect her, I guess, since the Prince's spleen is just ready to burst because "conservatives" have affected her ratings...(Oh! Was it conservatives, Your Highlyness, who said she didn't like this country and who threatened to tear Bill Clinton's eyes out? How about conservatives writing your senior thesis wherein you advise the races to divide and fight?)

His Thinskinedness was so brilliant as to cry victim in a "Glamour" interview which will come out in...are you ready...OCTOBER. So, even if Her Hatefulness goes completely underground, His Arrogance will be digging her up just before the election.

Another thing. Karl Rove was finally asked about the rumor that he held a tape on MO (Mo and Bo---has a certain ring to it, doesn't it?). He says "no" and doesn't believe it exists.

Andrea Mitchell was levid tonight on the Chris Matthews' Show decrying Obama's "fake" news releases. He has distributed video to the traveling media with many smiling military faces, but what has been edited out? No one knows because the media was not allowed at the Obama meetings or interviews, and even liberal Andrea is not happy. More is sure to come as Obama travels; he cannot continue to control his tarnished image. Look closely, America, the cracks are there.

As the Obama/MSM Summer of Love reaching nauseating new heights it becomes all the more important to remind Americans that - whatever the media would like us to think- actual citizens are planning to vote for McCain in about the same numbers as for Obama. So, a few of us are holding a mini-fundraiser to provide signs to crucial swingstates across the country. Right now the Obama people are outdoing us 6 TO 1 on yard signs and bumper stickers. That is unacceptable! We need to be generating some McCain momentum.

Our current goal is to raise $600 (+ shipping) which will provide 250 really durable, colorful signs to activists in Colorado, Michigan, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey and hopefully Missouri & Ohio. I think Obama's so called "trip" (one week for all of the middle east wow) hurt him more then it help him but time will only tell.
