Circa 1989, many people who had lived behind the Iron Curtain thought of Soros as a "good guy," because he provided grants, outlets for publishing works by suppressed Eastern European writers, etc. He represented concepts of free speech, free press, etc.
Unfortunately, however, we now know that Soros is an opportunist in philanthropic guise. Since his teenaged years in war-ravaged Budapest, Soros keenly observed the methods used by fascists and communists to acquire control of cultural institutions and communication outlets.
Like the Nazis Soros apparently purviews the criminal rosters for recruits; they are less subject to inconvenient fits of conscience. By the way, it is interesting to remember that the Nazis of Soros's time also recruited many indoctrinated in Marxism (no, I am not calling all Marxists criminals in saying this) and provided them with new uniforms and positions; the infamous judge Roland Freisler is an example---look HIM up for an example of repression of dissent and free speech!
SOROS AND THE WEATHER UNDERGROUND: ANOTHER REASON WHY THE MEDIA IS SO OUTRAGED
A [George] Soros grant was given to Linda Evans, who was pardoned by Bill Clinton for her involvement in the Weather Underground terrorist group. The Weather Underground was involved in the 1981 Brinks robbery, in which three murders were committed, and a series of bombings, including the bombing of the U.S. Capitol in November 1983.
The Baltimore, Maryland, branch of the OSI on May 12 hosted Bernardine Dohrn, another former member of the Weather Underground who once expressed solidarity with mass murderer Charles Manson, at a forum on criminal justice issues. Speaking to a Weather Underground "war council" in Michigan in 1969, Dohrn gave a three-fingered "fork salute" to Manson. As noted by Ami Naramor of The Claremont Institute, "Calling Manson's victims the 'Tate Eight,' Dohrn gloated over the fact that actress Sharon Tate, who was pregnant at the time, had been stabbed with a fork in her womb. 'Dig it. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim's stomach! Wild!'" Dohrn, now an associate professor and director at Northwestern University's Children and Justice Center, was a member of the advisory committee of the "children's rights watch" project of Human Rights Watch, funded by Soros.
Not coincidentally, the drug culture has embraced the Weather Underground. High Times magazine has called David Gilbert, a Weather Underground member now in prison, an "anti-imperialist political prisoner" and has hailed his book, No Surrender. High Times says Gilbert works behind bars for "prisoners' rights" – a favorite cause of Soros.

I know my history too, and recognize that you have acted towards the greater good in releasing rabbits to chase.
I have become almost obsessed with keeping up with the Election 08 news. I read blogs, I create blogs, I send bulletins on my Myspace, I read news articles, I watch news clips. What I see is so much disdain for McCain. I can't stand it when I read people talking about McCain and calling him a desperate old man who is rallying hatemongers "because that's all he has left" to go with in his campaign. People calling him racist, people thinking that attacking Obama's character is not honorable, or is unfair game. I even saw one comment equate McCain's tactics of sending out fliers before rallies to Hitler's tactics!!! What? Are you serious??
And then I read in a news article where Obama is incouraging his followers to "argue with your neighbors and get in their faces". This is what he's ENCOURAGING? Not honest discussion, but in your face arguing??
Then, in the same article, someone said something to the effect that it's absurd that some bloggers are stating Obama followers are wanting him to paint the
White House black. Absurd? Really? Because it's strange that I work with an Obama follower who expressed this same sentiment to me a couple of months ago. Her exact words are "who cares, it's just paint", to which I replied, "then if it's just paint, why not leave it the way it is"? (Where did this idea come from? I thought it was an isolated opinion...apparently not). The White House was not so named because of anything even remotely relating to race! Ok, I don't know the history of why it's called the White House, so I guess I'm making a sweeping assumption, but I'm willing to bet that my assumption is correct. But painting it black WOULD be a racist move. This makes me sick!
If Obama were white, this wouldn't be an issue. No one would care about McCain's character claims...but since he's a (half) black man, everyone is up in arms.
I fear for this country...it's a fear that goes down deep into my daily existance. I picture armed militants taking people down, I picture civil war, I picture the beginning of a long period of unrest and hatred among us. But maybe I need to get my head examined...I don't know.
The Media in the Tank for Obama Reminds Me of Burma

Growing up under a totalitarian government that controlled the media for its own benefit, most Burmese yearned for journalism freedom that would keep the government, as well as the entire nation, transparent. During my college years, I remember reading a book, in Burmese, on the Watergate scandal, and learned how the journalists diligently brought the case to the surface. It was probably the first in human history and the greatest example of how the freedom of press could help up-build a nation and keep America straight on the course of freedom.
Now I am in America and have been enjoying for nearly two decades of the fresh air of reading, listening, and watching news uncensored by the government. However, in recent years, I have sensed that the American press has begun to lose that dignity that most outsiders admire and it has started to enslave itself to ideology and bias. A good example would be the media’s apparent cheerleading for the presidential candidate Barack Obama. According to Rasmussen Report on July 21, 2008, 49% of the voters believe the media is in the tank for Obama.
When we mention the well-known statement, “Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely,” we often think of those in the leadership positions. However, have we ever considered the press as a collective social class that also can become corrupt by its own rising power? We don’t have a dictator in America, but can the press become one? Can Obama become a puppet of the media dictatorship?
While America will not be like Burma, where the corrupt government pulls the strings of the media, it can be the other way around—a corrupt media pulling the strings of a puppet president. The question is, “How can the press lose its composure?” While media keeps the government accountable, who is going to keep the media accountable? If power can corrupt the media, how can we prevent it from happening?
I guess most people would answer that “media will keep media accountable,” meaning, for example, the slipping network news televisions are being kept accountable by the Fox News Channel, and vice versa. However, power can be addictive. Can the corrupt media join hands to overpower the other voices like a coup d’état? Am I thinking too Burmese? But, why not? We have recently seen three network news anchors, representing the same view and ideology, went with Obama on his Middle East fact finding tour. The other views and voices have apparently been mute!
At a breakfast meeting this week, I heard the majority of people at the table praising how presidential Obama looked on his tour. One said that he had never seen such a grandiose broadcasting of any senator or president on his or her foreign visit. To these guys, Obama had scored a knock out against John McCain, without realizing that it is the bias media that had raised their favorite avatar on the pole, and ignored the other presidential candidate.
Maybe we are seeing the reverse of the Watergate scandal—this time it’s the media that is abusing its freedom.
Near the end of 1988, the Burmese military regime took over the power from the civilians telling them that they didn’t know how to do democracy and that the regime would do it for them. Maybe the mainline media today is telling the U.S. citizens, “You don’t know how to elect the right president, we will elect one for you!”
"Mainstream media" (MSM) never was an accurate representation of what this country's major print and broadcast news sources are and what they do. "Mainstream" is defined, when used as an adjective, as "representing the prevailing attitudes, values and practices of a society or group." The media, as a group, certainly has a set of prevailing attitudes, values and practices, but they are not those of American society, rather only representative of the more liberal elements of American society. It was when talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh eschewed the oxymoronic "MSM" appellation and coined the more appropriate term "drive-by media" (DBM) that we get a fitting label for today's fifth column Fourth Estate.
According to a Rasmussen poll conducted earlier this month, a majority of those surveyed believe that the DBM is not only biased against GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, but it is actively working to do her in:
Over half of U.S. voters (51%) think reporters are trying to hurt Sarah Palin with their news coverage, and 24% say those stories make them more likely to vote for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in November.
If this same poll were to be taken today, I'd wager that 51% figure would have only moved higher, for the DBM has increased both the frequency and the ferocity of its attacks on Gov. Palin. Rasmusssen's study was conducted prior to the two major network interviews of Palin, first by ABC's Charles Gibson one week after the poll, and this week by CBS' Katie Couric.
While ABC and CBS have have been setting Gov. Palin up, NBC has been busy knocking her down. Human Events editor Jed Babbin accurately described the two NBC networks as "Obama surrogates" in a column two weeks ago. More recently, MSNBC's Three Stooges for Obama - Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow - have been flying daily carpet bombing sorties against Palin, and even that network's morning show host, former GOP congressman Joe Scarborough, has cast himself in the role of The Fourth Stooge (not sure if he's Shemp or Emil Sitka) with his cluck-clucking this week about how Sarah's answers to Katie's questions just go to show that she's "not ready" for all of this running-for-VP business.
CNN, for its part, seems to be only too happy to cut and paste false information about Palin from the Left's nutroots websites in the form of doctored photos, distorted quotes and outright lies clearly intended to smear the Alaska governor and her family.
Virtually unheard, in all this DBM Palin-bashing, is any attempt at showing balance by giving equal time and space to Gov. Palin's Democrat counterpart Sen. Joe Biden. Indeed, any rational analysis of the two vice presidential candidates shows that Biden is one who's not ready for prime time.
Which of the two is more of a drag on his or her respective presidential ticket? The DBM would have voters believe that Palin is hurting John McCain because her answers to "gotcha" questions from Gibson and Couric were less than smoothly handled. Oh, really? Let's test that hypothesis.
Even liberal print outlets Washington Post and San Fancisco Chronicle have been forced to admit that Gov. Palin has energized the Republican Party's base. Moreover, Gallup polling indicates that John McCain's selection of Palin has broadened support for his ticket among a crucial voter demographic - independent swing voters. In another key demographic, white women, the addition of Gov. Palin to McCain's ticket has resulted in a major payoff, according to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll:
Before the Democratic National Convention in late August, Obama held an 8-point lead among white women voters, 50 percent to 42 percent, according to the Washington Post/ABC News poll. After the Republican convention in early September, McCain was ahead by 12 points among white women, 53 percent to 41 percent, that survey found.
A 20-point reversal is not just significant; it is nothing short of dramatic. Rather than being a drag on the GOP ticket, as the DBM's talking heads claim, we see that the reverse is true.
So how is Sen. Joe Biden helping Sen. Barack Obama's ticket? Hot Air's Allahpundit points out that twice in just 18 hours this week, Biden undermined his own campaign. He criticized an official Obama Campaign ad, and he gaffed big time by directly contradicting Obama's clean coal policy. In the critical battleground states of Pennsylvania and Virginia, which both also happen to be coal states with significant numbers of United Mine Workers members among their respective populations, such self-inflicted wounds could prove to be fatal.
These are just two very recent examples of a well-known Biden characteristic - like the oppositely-charged poles of two bar magnets, his foot and his mouth share a mutual attraction. Unlike McCain's choice of Palin, Obama's pick of Biden to be his running mate resulted in no significant bounce in the numbers for the Democrat's presidential nominee.
Yet, the media assault on Sarah Palin continues unabated. It makes one wonder, "What are they thinking?" We have already seen the potential for a major boomerang effect which could knock the DBM out cold and send the Democrats reeling. In an op-ed for Real Clear Politics, Robert Tracinski observes:
I have never seen anything like the wave of hostility and contempt aimed at Sarah Palin from the moment she was nominated. This press partisanship is a crucial part of the story, because it explains the difficulty of discovering who Sarah Palin is. And ironically, the pompous hostility of the press has served as a foil which Palin has used to increase her popular appeal.
In the final analysis, the media assault on Sarah Palin could be as damaging to Obama's campaign as the loose and loaded cannon that is Joe biden's mouth.
But have the talking heads of the DBM and other Democrat operatives noticed? The constrast between Gov. Palin and Sen. Biden, as well as the potential ramifications to their respective presidential tickets, is conspicuously absent from their list of talking points.

Day after day it is the same thing as this extremely important election nears. The media blatantly refuse to inform Americans about Obama’s past in order for the electorate to make an “informed” decision as they go to the polls and vote for an individual to fill highest office in our nation - The world.
It is mind boggling and mind numbing to watch this process continue, and one can only ask, “WHY?” Would the integrity of the press be different if Tim Russert were still alive, or would the conduct of the media during this crucial election have killed Russert anyway with media credibility being destroyed before his very eyes - Something that was paramount to Tim Russert. Who do we turn to now?
The answer is very limited. And the truths regarding Mr. Obama are even more limited. When speaking to average Americans in the streets regarding Obama’s extremely close relationship [spiritual adviser] to Rev Wright, and Obama’s twenty (20) year membership to this hate spewing, anti-American church; people say, “I did not know that.” When asking average Americans who will go to the polls to cast their vote if they were aware of Obama’s spiritual adviser preaching to Obama and his congregation, “Not God Bless America, but God d— America,” you will get the same answer - “No, I was not aware of that.” Our electorate, who blindly will cast their vote for Obama respond the same way when questioned if they knew Rev Wright was delighted on 9/11 at the loss of over 3,000 lives as our nation looked on in horror as we were attacked on our own soil. No, our electorate are not informed that Obama’s ”SPIRITUAL ADVISER,” Rev Wright said, “Yeah, the chickens came home to roost!” Are Americans informed that for twenty (20) years, Obama was never provoked to stand up and leave church on any given day out of disdain for this hateful rhetoric? NO! And to leave the church a few months ago for his political aspirations does not cut it, nor does it give the media a pass not to cover it.
You can continue to pound your head against a wall, and continue asking, “WHY!” Why has the media chose to protect Obama’s hidden past, and Obama’s anti-American and anti-white close associations? But the answer remains irrational, unreasonable, and most of all perplexing.
We, the American electorate have only one weapon to battle this egregious “wrong.” Hit the media where it hurts the most - Money. Hit the advertisers sponsoring this dishonorable media bias the same way - Money.
I am proposing a media blackout for networks and sources of this unethical reporting. We all must stand together, choose a day(s) that will most impact the networks and the advertisers, and the channel(s) remain off. This is our only weapon for the electorate to be informed, instead of being lied to, and we MUST use it. And use it NOW!
Please. Please let us organize this day and spread the word. Our nation and its people are at stake. May God Bless America, and may He guide and protect us.

ABC = A BANGING CHEAP PROPAGANDA MACHINE
Another daily example of open and shameless media bias pro-Obama anti-Mccain.
Aug. 5, 2008 [7:AM] , Jake Tapper of ABC's GMA (GoodMorningAmerica) presents what ABC (supposedly) "knows" to be true or false, analyzing Mccain vs Obama on the energy & gas crisis, first he presents McCain with a rage overtone and is very quick to throw the sticker "flipflop" followed by the "false" sticker twice with the loud sound effect of a 'BANG' in a wild speed.
Then as soon as he starts with Obama, all of a sudden the SPEED stops... all the 'BANGS" are gone! the punches sound of a boxing match comes to a holt, as if with a click of a button he slows down with a romantic voice, nothing about "flipflopping" on Obama's CHANGE of mind about oil drilling (this last weekend), heck, even Obama's childish stupidity about "inflating tires" gets not just no belittling but is even being elevated to some level of a cheap propaganda of "respect".
All this is "finalized" by Robin the anchor with a "thank you Jake for checking out the
facts"...
While the only fact is that McCain - American hero is the underdog vs the Obamawood actor.
Because it's never about the issues, nor about facts vs fiction, it's not about the "what" but about the "who".

Below is a very disturbing message from a U.S. soldier serving in Afghanistan as he describes Obama’s visit there. Not only did Obama egregiously snub our wounded fighting for our nation, but this soldier tells it like it really was when Obama stepped off the plane in Afghanistan.
These brave men and women are putting their lives on the line every minute of the day for months, sometimes years to fight the greatest threat to our nation in modern history - Fundamental Extremist Islamic terrorists who wish to destroy our nation.
For a presumptive nominee for CIC with an already questionable twenty (20) year close association of an anti-American ”hate” church to look down on these soldiers and not offer them even a thank you is dishonorable to them, and to our beloved nation. This is unforgivable.
John McCain suffered almost six (6) torturous years as a POW during the Vietnam War as he fought for our nation. Can one possibly imagine the kick in the gut Obama gave these brave military as he paraded past them - The kick in the gut he gives to all who have served fighting and dying for our freedom and our great nation, including John S. McCain.
Again, to the “media” coverage of Obama: It is not simply the excessiveness of it, but the truly blatant falseness of it which strikes at the heart of the media’s integrity. WHY?
Forwarded Message From Jeff In Afghanistan
Hello Everyone,
..I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that came to Bagram, Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to ‘The War Zone’. I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet-proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the soldiers where lined up to shake his hand, he blew them off and didn’t say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big-top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could have publicity pictures taken of him playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to soldiers to thank them for their service.
So really he was just here to make a showing for the Americans back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here, you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.
I swear we got more thanks from the NBA pla yers or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don’t understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-in-Chief. It was almost like he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.
If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

OK, the TV networks have drawn their lines - And unfairly I might add. The American electorate are exposed to a disproportionate and unfair coverage of the two presumptive nominees of the office of President of the United States. The bottom line - Obama does not need all the money given to the campaign for campaign ads, he has been getting enormous amounts of FREE media coverage from the major networks. What does this tell us regarding our media, and what fills the eyes, ears, and hearts of our American population? Let me fill you in.
In communist nations, their populations hear and see what has been decided they hear and see. In dictatorships which claim some semblance of democracy by allowing elections, they are often biased, allowing little to NO input as members of a nation cast their ballot.
Is this what our nation has come to? The American electorate has little exposure to our Republican candidate, John S. McCain, a man of character, dignity, credibility; and a Patriot who loves our beloved nation more than himself. Yet the liberal media has chosen to give the Democratic candidate the brunt of exposure. I challenge the media, however, this: If you choose to cover this Democratic candidate, Obama, at least be fair and balanced in your coverage. You can NOT erase TWENTY (20) years of a church Obama held dear to him which preached hate - HATE against the United States. Hate against whites. Pure and adulterated hate against anyone, and any institution and nation, including our own beloved United States of America which was not in agreement with their doctrine. read more »
