Campaign Responds . . .
“There should be no confusion, John McCain has always believed that serious engagement would require mandatory conditions and Hamas must change itself fundamentally – renounce violence, abandon its goal of eradicating Israel and accept a two state solution. John McCain’s position is clear and has always been clear, the President of the United States should not unconditionally meet with leaders of Iran, Hamas or Hezbollah. Barack Obama has made his position equally clear, and has pledged to meet unconditionally with Iran’s leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the leaders of other rogue regimes, which shows incredibly dangerous and weak judgment.” ---Tucker Bounds, spokesman John McCain 2008 After The Palestinian Election, John McCain Said In A Statement That "Hamas Is Not A Partner For Peace So Long As They Advocate The Overthrow Of Israel." "In the wake of yesterday's Palestinian elections, Hamas must change itself fundamentally - renounce violence, abandon its goal of eradicating Israel and accept the two-state solution. These elections are evidence that democracy is indeed spreading in the Middle East, but Hamas is not a partner for peace so long as they advocate the overthrow of Israel." (Office Of U.S. Senator John McCain, "Sen. McCain Reacts To Palestinian Election," Press Release, 1/26/06) From Davos, John McCain Says Hamas Must Renounce Its Commitment To The Extinction Of The State Of Israel. CNN'S BETTY NGUYEN: " All right, let's shift over to the global front. The Bush administration is reviewing all aspects of U.S. aid to the Palestinians now that Hamas has won the elections. And I do have to quote you here. A State Department spokesman did say this: 'To be very clear' – and I'm quoting now – 'we do not provide money to terrorist organizations.' What does this do to the U.S. relationship with the Palestinians?" MCCAIN: "Well, hopefully, that Hamas now that they are going to govern, will be motivated to renounce this commitment to the extinction of the state of Israel. Then we can do business again, we can resume aid, we can resume the peace process." (CNN's "Saturday Morning News," 1/28/06) · CNN's Suzanne Malveaux: "Straight Talk For Hamas By U.S. Senator John McCain." SEN. JOHN MCCAIN: "Hopefully that Hamas, now that they are going to govern, will be motivated to renounce this commitment to the extinction of the State of Israel. Then we can do business again." CNN'S SUZANNE MALVEAUX: "Straight talk for Hamas by U.S. Senator John McCain." (CNN's "Live Saturday," 1/28/06)

Dan Mayhak used to work out at Powerhouse Gym in Anchorage, Alaska. Mayhak, in his 58, says he used to suffer from severe alcoholism and depression and that bodybuilding helped him recover. He had hopes to win a national master's championship and become a motivational speaker.
Dan Mayhak served in Vietnam. He went through hell, many guys did that part of Dan’s story isn’t unique. Dan returned home to a country that didn't much love him at the time. Injured, physically, exposed to severe levels of Agent Orange, (due to an accident at his barracks, that is still causing trouble to this day) and injured mentally.
Dan couldn't have dreamed that coming home was only the beginning of the trouble. Severe alcoholism and depression, anger and God knows what else haunted Dan for quite some time. Several failed marriages, bouts with cancer and other health problems brought on by his service to his country seemed only too heavy the burden. Poor treatment from his fellow citizens, from the DAV, VA and Government as a whole didn't help the matter.
You would think Dan would've given up a long damned time ago. You would think Dan wouldn't be of much use to society today. Well, you'd be thinking wrong.

This morning, John McCain’s campaign released a new ad focusing on what John McCain envisions achieving during his first term in the White House.
For the sake of comparison, what would America’s economy and national security look like after four years of an Obama presidency?

RNC LAUNCHES NEW WEB SITE & VIDEO
WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today launched a new Web site encouraging voters to ask Barack Obama questions about the important issues facing America.
CanWeAsk.com provides Americans with an opportunity to submit text or video questions for Barack Obama regarding the issues he has failed to address or refused to answer, including:
* Why, as an Illinois state Senator, did he vote “present” over 130 times instead of “yes” or “no” on difficult issues like abortion, crime, and guns?
* On fiscal responsibility, how he intends to pay for over $660 billion in his new spending proposals and whether he can do it without raising taxes on families and small businesses?
* Why he voted against funding for our troops after promising not to use them as pawns in a war funding debate?
* Why did he tell donors in San Francisco that the economy has driven small town voters to “cling” to guns and religion?

Reuters has a story today that suggests Sen. Obama is attempting to steal the mantle of “straight talk” from Sen. McCain:
Please see the below and the attached, which put the lie to this silly notion.

Today, Obama Claimed He Has Been Accurately Re-Stating Sen. McCain's "100 Years" Comment:
Obama Told The Today Show's Meredith Vieira That He Has Not Distorted Sen. McCain's Comments. Vieira: "Senator, both you and Senator Clinton have said Senator McCain favors 100 more years of war in Iraq. Sunday in The New York Times Frank Rich wrote, really, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should be ashamed of themselves for libeling John McCain. He felt that the American troops should be a long-term presence, the way they were in Japan and South Korea. Are you willing to admit that you've distorted his statements?" Obama: "No. that's not accurate. We can pull up the quotes on You Tube." (NBC's "The Today Show," 4/8/08)

Catholic Group Mission
As Catholics, our faith enlightens our political choices. We face a clear choice in the Republican Party under the leadership by President Bush and his vision of a compassionate conservative America. This vision combines the importance of personal responsibility, protection of human life and support for the family with compassionate policies such as tax relief, education reform and accountability, prescription drug assistance for seniors, and support for international human rights. The Republican Party makes it possible for Catholics to uphold both the culture of life and social justice in a way that the Democrat platform does not. The mission of Catholic Outreach is therefore to continue the realignment of Catholics as members of The Republican Party.

A Few Questions For Barack Obama As He Tries To Explain Why He Has No Solution To Combat Rising Gas Prices______________________________________________________________________
Today, Obama Will Hold A Press Conference To Discuss Gas Prices:

NOTE: As Of April 25, 2008, The Average Price Of Regular Gasoline In Indiana Was Over $3.63 Per Gallon. (AAA Website, www.fuelgaugereport.com, Accessed 4/24/08)
QUESTION: What Are Obama's Short-Term Solutions To Help American Families With Rising Energy Costs?
Obama: "I would be dishonest if I said we've got a lot of short-term answers to bringing down gas prices. I don't think we do." (Suzanne Malveaux, "Clinton, Obama Take On Big Oil," CNN.com, 4/1/08)

NOTE: Under Sen. John McCain's Gas Tax Suspension Plan, Families Would Save 18.4 Cents On Every Gallon Of Gas. "Hard-working American families are suffering from higher gasoline prices. John McCain calls on Congress to suspend the 18.4 cent federal gas tax and 24.4 cent diesel tax from Memorial Day to Labor Day." (John McCain For President Website, ww w.johnmccain.com, Accessed 4/22/08)
"A USA TODAY Analysis Showed That McCain's Gas-Tax Proposal Could Save Motorists $6.8 Billion In Taxes During The Summer." (Kathy Kiely, "Gas-Tax Holiday Among McCain's Plans For Economy," USA Today, 4/16/08)
QUESTION: Why Does Obama Not Support Immediate Gas Tax Relief For Hardworking Americans Now, When He Supported It As A State Senator?
Obama Now Opposes A Gas Tax Holiday. "In a new policy split in the presidential campaign, Barack Obama opposed a federal gas-tax holiday supported by John McCain, the likely Republican nominee." (Nick Timiraos, "Obama, Clinton Split Over McCain Plan For Gas-Tax Holiday," The Wall Street Journal, 4/24/08)
