bailouts
I read somewhere that the current proposed bailout being debated in the House and Senate was named the Troubled Asset Relief Programme, or TARP...and it could not be more appropriately named.
For anyone who has been hit by a powerful hurricane like I have, you know that following such a devastating storm, there are always a bunch of homes and businesses with a bright blue TARP on the roof. A TARP can be taped and tied down to cover a damaged roof for a very long time, sometimes months and even years later a TARP remains, as the eye sore and flimsy patch it is. But a TARP is never a replacement for a good solid roof, even if it is intended to only be TEMPORARY or SHORT TERM.
So my fellow Americans, let's not believe that this TARP is going to remedy the damage to our economy. I say let's hire a proper roofer and get the job done right the first time. Vote for McCain-Palin on November 4.
Thank you for listening.
