It is sad to think that Barack Obama might feel the same toward the millions of undocumented illegals in the U.S. as he does his "Auntie Zeituni" -- his Aunt was good enough to beef up his warm-and-fuzzy heritage story in his book, but he is heartless when it comes to caring for her since she came to the U.S. in 2003.

John McCain is a Senator from a border state. He knows the issues that impact immigrants from Mexico. He understands concerns of American citizens and businesses who rely on these workers, but who also deal with problems involving those who are not here legally. He has stated over and over again that what we do to reform immigration must protect U.S. citizens but must also be compassionate. He talks about a sign his staff purchased in an antique store that reads "Irish Need Not Apply." It is a stark reminder to him of how unfair treatment of immigrants has plagued us in the past, and that we must not support attitudes that discriminate against a group of people because they are not born in the U.S.

Read John McCain's Policy on Immigration Reform here:

"As you know, I and many other colleagues twice attempted to pass comprehensive immigration legislation to fix our broken borders; ensure respect for the laws of this country; recognize the important economic contribution of immigrant laborers; apprehend those who came here illegally to commit crimes; and deal practically and humanely with those who came here, as my distant ancestors did, to build a better, safer life for their families, without excusing the fact they came here illegally or granting them privileges before those who have been waiting their turn outside the country. Many Americans did not believe us when we said we would secure our borders, and so we failed in our efforts. I don't want to fail again to achieve comprehensive immigration reform.

We must prove we have the resources to secure our borders and use them, while respecting the dignity and rights of citizens and legal residents of the United States. When we have achieved our border security goal, we must enact and implement the other parts of practical, fair and necessary immigration policy. We have economic and humanitarian responsibilities as well, and they require no less dedication from us in meeting them."

I don't know about you, but I do not want this country run by someone who is clueless — especially when it involves his family, his colleagues and his church leader of 20 years.

Barack Obama claims he never knew Reverand Jeremiah Wright, his minister of 20 years, used hate speech during his sermons:

He didn't know that President Clinton's welfare reform program would work either:

He didn't know that the Iraq surge would work and lead our troops to an honorable victory:

He claims he didn't know that his Auntie Zeituni from Kenya, whom he mentioned in his book, was living in the U.S. illegally:

He claims he never knew that William Ayers, his neighbor, his co-chairman of the Woods Fund for 3 years, the person who kicked off his political career in his living room, is an unrepentant domestic terrorist, who dedicated his book to Sirhan Sirhan, the man who assassinated Robert Kennedy:

Like I said, he is clueless. And like Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, John McCain and Sarah Palin have told you, HE'S NOT READY.

In 2009 if Obama wins this election, my small Internet services business faces higher taxes, so I will not hire two people to help roll-out my new service. I face having to pay for health insurance I will never use, as I follow the protocols of natural and holistic medicine. Instead of giving 30% of my income to charity as I did in 2007, I am not sure what I will be able to do for them financially.

My giving programs lifted up my life last year and kept me going, as I recovered from my own financial disaster following hurricane Isabel.

But according to Barack Obama and Joe Biden, somehow I am suppose to be comforted by knowing that the federal government will be taking better care of people who are "less fortunate" than me. And if I don't feel that way, then I am "unpatriotic" and "selfish."

ABC News reports on this latest statement from Obama:
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/10/obamas-new-atta.html

Watch the video, listen for yourself:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGAYc66vK7k

And here is Joe Biden with his "patriotic" remark:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCqgNWRjmAc

Well, here is my message to Obama and Biden -- and may I be blunt? I do not need a Catholic who approves of abortion and an ex-Reverand Wright follower to preach to me about virtues and giving.

Obama's "middle class" are not the ones I lend a helping hand to. I provide care to people who are living in poverty, homeless, victims of wars and disasters, or unemployable. The ones that Obama wants to "share the wealth" with are "middle class" who make less than my small business, 40% of whom pay no federal income taxes. Included in this group are some decent hard-working people, but also included in this group are:

  • people who just don't want to work as hard as they can
  • people who only work part time so they can have more leisure time
  • people who are under-employed but they do not want to go back to school or train so they can improve their standard of living
  • criminals: thieves, murderers, drug dealers, child molesters, wife-beaters, etc.
  • people who decide they can work less, get rid of the few employees they have, and semi-retire earlier now that they can get that added little bonus from the Obama Administration.

Yep, that last one sounds like me. Why should I kill myself and work hard at running an ethical business if I can work less and get by? Where is the incentive? With that free time I have from working part-time, I can volunteer for my charities. So this is my plan for 2009 should Obama win this election. Heaven forbid.

Almost Everyone Would Do Better Under the McCain Health Plan
Wall Street Journal

The McCain health-care insurance tax credit may well be one of the most misunderstood proposals of this presidential election. Barack Obama has been ruthless in his attacks. But the tax credit is highly progressive and will provide a powerful incentive for people to purchase health insurance. These features under normal circumstances should endear Democrats to the proposal.

Don't get me wrong — I have high respect for Colin Powell. I have much more respect for John McCain, however, and my support for McCain/Palin further solidified with Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama. The fact is, endorsements never change how people vote for the most part. So, it is not the endorsement I write about here, but rather the misinformation and intent presented with the endorsement.

My first point:

The intent of Powell's endorsement is clear to me. Why wait until now to come out with it? Powell may feel that an Obama victory is likely, and he wants to be on the winning side. He may have felt some pressure by the black community to show support. But I believe he wants to try to right his own wrongs in convincing the world that the invasion of Iraq was necessary when addressing the U.N Security Council as Secretary of State. Yes, the man who was key to the war starting, wants to appear partnered with the man who runs on being against the war from day one.

References (in case you forgot this bit of history or were too young to be aware at the time):

U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell Addresses the U.N. Security Council
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/02/20030205-1.html

A passage from Bob Woodward’s most recent book, “The War Within,” that quoted former Secretary of State James A. Baker III, a Republican, as saying that Mr. Powell was “the one guy who could have perhaps prevented” the war from happening.

Even the NYT reported on this background yesterday:
Powell’s Endorsement Puts Spotlight on His Legacy
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/20/us/politics/20powell.html?ref=world

And don't forget, this was based on Powell's belief in the false reports by the CIA on weapons of mass destruction:

CNN Report: Report: Iraq intelligence 'dead wrong'
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/03/31/intel.report/index.html

My second point:

Aside from trying to change his own legacy, point 2 relates to the statement that Powell made about Muslims, blaming the GOP and McCain on making Muslims out to be bad people and Islam a bad religion. Quote from Powell on Muslims taken from his endorsement interview:

"I'm also troubled by, not what Senator McCain says, but what members of the party say. And it is permitted to be said such things as, "Well, you know that Mr. Obama is a Muslim." Well, the correct answer is, he is not a Muslim, he's a Christian. He's always been a Christian. But the really right answer is, what if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer's no, that's not America. Is there something wrong with some seven-year-old Muslim-American kid believing that he or she could be president? Yet, I have heard senior members of my own party drop the suggestion, "He's a Muslim and he might be associated terrorists." This is not the way we should be doing it in America."

Well, folks, the fact is Obama was not always a Christian. His registration documents in Indonesia to attend Catholic school stated he was of the Islam religion:

The registration document was located as an AP photo here:
http://www.daylife.com/photo/01u33pL9Ns06D

"This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro into the Catholic school made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. The document lists Barry Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen, born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, and shows his Muslim step-father listed the boy's religion as Islam.(AP Photo/ Tatan Syuflana)"

What is most wrong with Powell's inaccurate statement is that Barack Obama and his supporters are the ones who have treated Muslims unfavorably in this campaign. Let me just site one instance reported about how Muslims were told not to be in photos that included Barack Obama:

Politico: Muslims barred from picture at Obama event
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0608/11168.html

Colin Powell is simply out of touch politically, and does not have all of the facts about this campaign.

There is nothing wrong with being Muslim. There is everything wrong with being a liar, Barry Soetoro of Indonesia or whoever you are.

My third point:

Colin Powell is not a Republican endorsing Barack Obama; at one point when he was considering running for President against George Bush, his intent was to run as an Independent. For several years now he has dissed the Republican Party.

On to my fourth and most important point:

Colin Powell and John McCain are both American heroes. They both served our country in the military and have both been servants in government positions, McCain far longer than Powell. But which of the two men do you think deserves the most recognition for public service? It is simple: When called upon to serve our country in the capacity of President of the United States, during a time when such a political post is likely to be an enormous challenge resulting in constant threats to one's family and one's life, terrorist attacks, financial woes beyond the imaginable, a savage political arena, biased tabloidal media, and much more — who stood up to the plate? Not Colin Powell. Once again, John McCain put country first.

Although he never served in the military, I give credit to Barack Obama for facing this challenge now of running for President in this undesirable climate. In fact, I make it a point to respect everyone who takes it upon themselves to serve our country in either a military or political position. But it also matters significantly as to whether one delivers positive results while serving, and as Secretary of State, history does not write a story of success for Colin Powell. That day at the United Nations was not his shining hour.

And in my opinion, with all due respect Mr. Powell, your endorsement rhetoric on Meet The Press was another low point, filled with accusations about John McCain that I hope you retract publicly. And you need to do this NOW — before you once again go down in history as the voice who encouraged the citizens of this country to cast a vote they will regret for years to come.

I guess not everyone will react the same way to this article and the two video clips at the end, but how you react says everything about who you are.

The developmentally disabled children in this country have another voice that will provide them a channel through which they can speak and be seen and heard by many. That new voice is Sarah Palin.

Clay Aiken and Sarah Palin have a lot in common, and it may surprise you just how much. It is not puzzling to me why these two advocates for the developmentally disabled have won over the hearts of many. Because of their devotion to children with special needs and high level of visibility, they have and will continue to bring more funding and positive attention to these beautiful children and their families who so desperately need our love and support.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin showed the world at her national political debut about 2 months ago that she and her family not only adored their infant son with Downs Syndrome, but they were proud to show him off to the world. Palin's sister and brother-in-law, Heather and Kurt Bruce, have a 13-year-old autistic son, and the sisters often took turns caring for each others kids as they were growing up. The governor successfully pushed for an increase in education funding for severely disabled students that raised the level from $26,900 to $49,300 per student in 2008, and from what I am hearing, she is motivated to do much more at a national level.

Clay Aiken also has a very special soft spot in his heart for children with developmental disabilities. His charity in Raleigh North Carolina, The Bubel Aiken Foundation, was founded by Aiken and the mother of a child with autism. Aiken also was chosen to serve as a UNICEF Ambassador because of his special education background, bringing awareness to the educational and basic needs of children across the globe, helping to raise thousands of dollars for UNICEF.

Being the rather gorky kid he was growing up, Aiken was the subject of much bullying, which he talked about in depth in his best-selling autobiography Learning To Sing, which I found to be a very thoughtful, endearing and familiar story. Of course we all know that the bullying did not stop with Aiken's fame from American Idol. Aiken is often attacked by the media and tabloids and people who just want to pick on him.

I was well aware that immediately following the GOP Convention, Palin and her family became the target of the same hate-spewing attackers who aggressively go after Clay Aiken. You see, for both of these people, I worked behind the scenes to get offensive and degrading photos and other content removed from the Internet, a responsibility I took upon myself. As an Internet services provider, I am familiar with acceptable use policies and terms of service agreements. These legal agreements typically do not allow Websites to contain pornography and other content intended to harm someone. While tracing the network of one Website, I discovered that one of the same Internet hosting companies of a Website containing malicious Photoshopped photos of Aiken, also hosted a Website with pornography falsely depicting Palin. So I now find myself three years later going after the same culprit once again.

It is appalling that this offensive content can be so easily accessed by children, and I feel it is everyone's duty to do whatever they can to keep such garbage from public view. It has been disheartening to me to find so little support from government when it comes to cleaning up the Internet and protecting the innocent children in our country.

The hate that exudes from some Websites makes me wonder if we will ever become a nation of kinder, gentler people. But I take solace in knowing that without hate in the world, we might not see the true value in unselfish acts of love and kindness.

With that said, I provide these links to two videos that each tell a story of these special families and children who are drawn in the same way to their "idols" — Clay and Sarah — two caring individuals who have put themselves out there in the public eye to make a difference for them. When I first saw the video clip produced by NBC about Sarah Palin, it reminded me of a Clay Aiken concert. I attended a Clay Aiken Jukebox Tour concert in New Jersey one year, and the aisles and front rows were filled with children and adults in wheelchairs, who were drawn to Aiken because of his commitment to their special needs and desire for full inclusion. The second clip was produced for Clay Aiken's charity, which ends with children of all abilities playing together and telling us why a world of inclusion is a wonderful place.

Like I said at the beginning of this writing, I guess not everyone will react the same way to these two videos and the stories behind the people, but how you react says everything about who you are.

May I remind my black brothers and sisters of the words of the honorable Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. -- words I heard as a child of that era that helped form the person I am today, with hopes and dreams of equality for all:

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

I say to you and to citizens of all races in our wonderful country, please do not take the enormous step backwards to vote for someone because of their race. We must open our minds and welcome full and thorough vetting of our candidates, especially of their character. Otherwise, you dishonor the life of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It was clear to me from the beginning that Barack Obama intended to use the race card to win his bid for the Presidency. And don't think for one moment I am racist in saying this. No my friends, nearly 80% of the people who are helped from my charitable efforts are African or African-American. One third of my income from 2007 went to charity, and I am making far less than the average American these days. I write this because I simply cannot tolerate this agenda to paint Black America as a victim and to paint White America as racist -- in order to put Barack Obama into the White House.

The first time that the real ugliness of racism confronted me directly was when I was planning my sweet sixteen birthday sleepover. I was told that I could invite all of the girls from my class, which were about 35. I made out invitations and handed them to each one. One of the invitations went to a 15 year old black girl. As R.S.V.P.s started to arrive, my stepmother opened them to keep track so we could budget for the party favors and food. One evening, she came up to my room and sat down on my bed, with an R.S.V.P. in her hand and told me point blank, "We cannot have this girl at the party. You will have to uninvite her and just explain to her that we have to limit how many girls can stay over." My father joined in to state point blank that "we cannot have blacks in this house." I should have known that. There will be no party otherwise.

So, I cancelled the entire event.

Let's get the facts straight about who is injecting race into this election process, and stop playing with words to divide this nation.

  1. Barack Obama's father was African and his mother was white. He hardly knew his father, and was raised by his white mother and then her white parents. They are not here or available to tell their story, so we only get his stories, like the one about his white grandmother's prejudices against black men on the street.
  2. Barack Obama has decided to represent himself as an African-American, even though he is only half African-American. If he represented himself as a mixed-racial American, we would not need this discussion because he would not have made it this far. Where I grew up, the black community had a harder time accepting mixed-racial kids than the white community did. In Los Angeles California during the 80's, I had a very good friend who was white, who married a black man, and their two children who were light-skinned with black features and hair were shunned.
  3. In Barack Obama's book, "Dreams" he stated that he decided to head to Chicago to organize black folks.
  4. Over 90% of blacks in this country are supporting Barack Obama. That is a strong indication that many have made a decision based on race. (So I hope they reconsider the words of MLK posted at the beginning of this article.)
  5. The black community rallied behind Obama early on, including the black churches, who as 501(c) tax-exempt organizations, are suppose to be non-political. I attended an African Methodist Episcopalian (A.M.E.) church on Martin Luther King's Birthday in South Carolina this year, one of two A.M.E. churches I visited that week during the Democratic Debate and Caucus. The church in Little River had visitors from out of state speaking to them on why they must vote for Barack Obama. They referred to him as The New Prophet sent from God to lead the people to the promise land. They said, just like Martin, our new Prophet should not be judged for his experience or past, but only viewed as a messenger from God whom we must follow. The pamphlet they gave out had this quote from MLK:

    "The Negro needs the white man to free him from his fears;
The white man needs the Negro to free him from his guilt."

This quote was the prominent remark in an hour and a half-long program that was to honor the remarkable life of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. I am sorry to tell you, but in 2008 as a "white" woman in America, I have no idea what guilt is being referenced here. And if there are black folks out there today who harbor a fear of white folks to the point that it keeps them from being a fully functional member of our society, you need to get over it.

Yes, racism has raised its ugly head in 2008 during this campaign. It was initially raised by Barack Obama and continues to be raised by him and his followers any time someone criticizes him or questions his background and experience. Barack Obama likes to hit the campaign trail and point out these criticisms as "Okey-doke." He carefully explains this is the black community code word for white folks using code words to discriminate against blacks. His continued racial divisiveness, not just in his words and those of his supporters and campaign staff, but also in his actions, has caused people like me for the first time in my life to think in terms of black and white.

And make no mistake about it -- he has purposefully rallied the black community to get him in the White House. During this campaign, he paid ACORN $800,000 to drag poor blacks from the street to register to vote, and many cases have been reported and videotaped that they were not just helping them to vote, but to vote for Obama.

Barack Obama has been endorsed by some of the most unsavory of the black community, including the New Black Panthers and Louis Farrakhan, to name a few:

Note: The original AP news release on the Farrakhan endorsement has been deleted. The blog about the New Black Panthers endorsement has links to the original endorsement on the Obama campaign Website and captured a screenshot before that, too, was removed from public access.

Here is video from a trip Barack Obama made to campaign for his cousin, Odinga of Kenya, also known as the "Butcher of Kenya" -- an election that Odinga lost.

Some Kenyans I know believe Barack Obama was born in Kenya, which has been reported to have been claimed by his Kenyan grandmother. From the video above, they sure seem to know who he is. I fear that most voters in this country don't know the real Barack Obama. An attorney, a Democratic leader in our country, is using the court system to find out.

So who will Barack Obama be working for, should he be elected in the White House? Who will he add to his group of insiders? Who will he owe favors to for putting him in the highest position of the free world? Who will be sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom?

I don't think he cares about me. He wants to put me in a "class" so he can conduct class warfare, taxing the "rich" and giving to the poor.

I have found myself needing to think about race more often now, rethinking my choice of words because some may consider them racial, such as uppity, a word I use to describe snooty people. But who I am is unchanged by this attempt to racially divide our country, and I will continue to care for ALL AMERICANS and persons around the world without consideration of their race. That is my record....but that is not the record of Barack Obama.

Who in their right minds would allow these two failed Chicago education "reformers" influence the education of our children in America? I am talking about Barack Obama and William Ayers.

Educators and parents should read the information provided by the resources below before concluding that Obama's education policy is right for our country. Of the utmost concern is appropriation of tax dollars on programs that work and develop our Nation's children into positive role models and citizens in society. Take a look:

Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC)
An educational program that cost millions and was a complete failure. At its founding, the Annenberg Challenge was made up of three constituent parts:

* The Chicago School Reform Collaborative, co-chaired by William C. Ayers;

* a Board of Directors initially recruited by the Collaborative, which was chaired from 1995 to 2000 by Barack Obama, at the time a practicing attorney.

* The Chicago Schools Research Consortium, a research arm of the Challenge.

The final review of the program concluded, "the Challenge had little impact on school improvement and student outcomes, with no statistically significant differences between Annenberg and non-Annenberg schools in rates of achievement gain, classroom behavior, student self-efficacy, and social competence."

Thursday night, Gwen Ifill is scheduled to be the moderator at the VP debate. Last night, concerned citizens on the Internet and Greta Van Susteren of Fox News broke the story about a conflict of interest concerning Ms. Ifill as a moderator for this debate.

Ms. Ifill has a book coming out that currently has TWO TITLES:

The title on her PBS Website is The Breakthrough: Politics in the Age of Obama
http://www.pbs.org/weta/washingtonweek/gwen/

OOPS! Gwen Ifill apparently read my post on RealClearPolitics.com today -- so she "fixed" her Webpage. Here is a PDF containing the cached copy from Google, showing how the book title appeared until this morning:
http://64.37.107.199/ifill_tower/20080924_ifill_webpage_before.pdf

The title on Amazon.com is The Breakthrough: Politics And Race in the Age of Obama
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/038552501X/

Why try to hide it? A pig with lipstick is still a pig. This is just another Winky-Wink where someone is trying to do something that is not about race, when in fact, it is.

Although the book was not a secret, Ms. Ifill and/or the debate committee did not inform John McCain's campaign of the book. As of this writing, Ms. Ifill and the debate committee have not returned calls from Fox News or anyone else that I am aware of.

Ms. Ifill stands to make a lot more money from her book if Obama is elected, a book which is scheduled to be published on Inauguration Day (see Amazon.com link above). This is an obvious conflict of interest.

This is not good news for either V.P. or Presidential candidate, the moderator, the two parties, the public, the debate committee or anyone. Ms. Ifill should recuse herself, heck she can blame it on her recent broken ankle injury, and the debate committee should take responsibility for handling this properly.

By the way, if you are still thinking Ms. Ifill can handle this without bias, take another look. Ms. Ifill also gave her opinion on Gov. Palin's speech at the GOP Convention and on Gov. Palin in another interview - here are the videos:
