McCain will win the 2008 Election

If the vote was today, John McCain could very well win the 2008 election. The longer the Democrats fight with each other over their eventual nominee, the better it is for John McCain.

Actually it does not matter who is the eventual winner of the Democrat Party nomination. John McCain can defeat either democrat candidate based on character, integrity, and experience...

The Dems set it up perfectly

The Democrats are setting it up perfectly for McCain. Obama's platform is all about change - but he doesn't have the record of reform to back it up. McCain is THE reformer. Clinton is all about experience -again she doesn't have much while McCain is as thoroughly prepared for the Presidency as probably anyone who has ever held the office. By creating a market for qualities that they only aspire to possess, and that McCain has IN SPADES the Dems are actually advertisizing the Senator from Arizona.
If Obama loses the nom and his people don't want "politics as usual"- McCain is their guy, if Clinton loses and some of her fans can't deal with Obama's inexperience _ McCain is perfect. Heck, Hillary has practically endorsed him!

Lots of factors

Lots of factors can affect the election. McCain, if he is to win, must pick the right VP (or many abandon ship), avoid looking too close to GWB and his policies, and hope the economy improves and Iraq goes well. Iraq and the economy are factors he has little control over at this point, but either or both could propel a Democrat into the White House. I would hate to see it, but it could happen.

The longer they slug it out

The longer they slug it out the better. This race between Obama and Hillary is getting very divisive as well as expensive. If it can last a few more months, it could really doom whomever is the winner.

If I were in charge (ya, right--grin)

I hope the professionals are putting together an internet savvy group who are capable of serious, informed debate (and understand basic debating techniques, i.e., NEVER get involved in a name calling contest; it's all about facts and logic. Irony and sarcasm are permitted; just never let it get personal). This group needs to spend time finding discussions and joining in and correcting the illogic, historical inaccuracy, hate-baiting left without slinging mud. This CAN be done, but it needs someone trained in formal debate techniques.

Also, there should be a place at this site which posts links to discussions so those of us with an opposite point of view knows where to go to get the word out, including an "alert--McCain defender down, needs help" hot link. And there should be a couple of full-time guru's running this feature so the stuff is constantly up-to-date. If the Baltimore Sun or the Tremont Leader is having a discussion, McCain supporters need to join in!

And to McCain speech writers: One of the things that seems to be ignored about why Reagan was such a great communicator was that he gently TAUGHT HISTORY. Never, ever assume that Americans are making the historical connections. Obama "change" is in fact not change at all. It's just returning to the failed 50 years of Democrat rule in the Congress and the disasterous 4 years of Jimmy Carter. For example, every time a Democrat complains about the cost of war, someone needs to remind Americans that we spend so much on war because we are (a) trying to save our own guy's and gal's lives and (b) America is trying to save civilian lives and infrastructure. This seems so obvious, except people really don't make the connection.

And the "lobbying" thing. Ask the left to put their money where their mouth is and introduce a Constitutional Amendment to prohibit folks from petitioning their government. And another thing McCain researchers need to do is put together a list of all the human rights, Common Cause, AARP, Greenpeace groups who have PAID lobbyists. It ain't just businesses who lobby and this needs to be carefully explained, pronto (and re-explained as necessary).

Oh, and I heard a Democrat strategist promise that Keating WILL be an issue as a means to counter the association stuff for Obama. Whoever makes McCain's commercials needs to get that interview with Bill Bennett where he says that (1) McCain was the ONLY innocent in that mess and that (2) the Democrats on the committee wouldn't drop him FOR POLITICAL REASONS.

Are the McCain folks doing commercials for internet sites--some not even associated with politics?

And I love McCain's current speaking "tour"--we Republicans have allowed the Democrats to define who we are for too long. Somehow WE allowed Hollywood and the leftist press to get away with outrageous slime in defining Bush. It's time to put a stop to it, and it can be done with reasoned debate. No one has to jump into the mud.

OK. I know. I'm getting carried away here, but even if no one reads this, it's at least more productive that me sitting in front of our 50" television having a heated conversation with Bill O'Reilly or Alan Colmes.

The issues surrounding

The issues surrounding recent discussions on US offshore drilling for oil has significant impact for all Americans where Obama and McCain talk about in http://pollclash.com . The soaring oil prices are affecting the costs of everything from food to gas. There are also significant issues on local and global environmental impact. While there are many issues, we need to look at our next leader and determine which will have the best course of action going forward. Here's where your vote and voice can count. Watch the two video clips below submit your vote. Also, leave a comment if there is more you wish to say or an issue you think should be raised within the context of this clash.

Media Bias

We pretty much know the media is in the tank for Obama.

Just something I noticed this AM. It's a minor thing, but I v'e noticed a lot more favorable Obama articles and even more disfavorable McCain stories on yahoo.com. Here is a classic spin on a title:

http://news.yahoo.com/page/election-2008-political-pulse-pets-and-politi...

link title on Yahoo main page:
• Poll: Obama leads McCain among people who don't have pets

Actual title of article from AP:
Pet owners prefer McCain over Obama

Again, a minor detail but telling nonetheless!

The Economy and Energy

have emerged as the top issues in the campaign, and I don't think this will change. I am not a political strategist; however, I have a suggestion for McCain - Embrace the Pickens Plan and do it WILDLY. I heard T. Boone Pickens today on Squawk Box and watched the video of his new energy plan on ABC news. I envision a robust aggressive energy plan roll-out by McCain utilizing part or all of the Pickens Plan. It is time we take drastic action to get off foreign oil, and the Pickens plan is a start. In addition, it will create millions of jobs if we combine this with conservation measures such as building a national rail system that can effectively transport people. I loved how Squawk Box had the theme song from Dallas playing in the background, and an excitement emerged during the Pickens interview that trumpted the "Can-do American" spirit that has slipped dismally amid the current economic woes. This is the excitement missing from the campaign. It calls for action rather than "crying in the beer." It is honest, calling for more pain before realizing the ultimate end to our oil dependency. Finally, it is the illusive solution to our economic plight, national security crisis, and energy dilemna. This is what the American people want - a bold and dramatic solution.

Senator Obama: Please Act Appropriately

Anyone heard that Obama wants to have a rally in front of the Brandenberg Gate in Germany when he makes his trip overseas?? Arrogant?

A letter to Obama I saw on http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/07/11/senator-obama-please-act-appropr...

Dear Senator Obama:

John McCain has now been to Canada, Colombia and Mexico. He met with leaders of these countries and held talks. In Ottawa, he gave a speech to the Economic Club of Canada. In Cartagena, Senator McCain toured the historic city Cartagena, met with Colombian leaders as well with ordinary Colombians in a meet and greet and reviewed joint US-Colombian anti-narcotics efforts. In Mexico, Senator McCain toured the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe. He then met with President Felipe Calderon of Mexico. They talked about trade, immigration and narco-trafficking. He did not hold rallies.

Your idea to hold rallies abroad sets a dangerous precedent. You are politicizing an American political campaign beyond our borders and that carries great risk for the United States and no reward. You are not yet President of the United States. Respect the wishes of Chancellor Angela Merkel and her government. Act like a candidate for President and be respectful of the wishes of others. Here is what Chancellor Merkel’s spokesman, Thomas Steg, had to say on the matter:

“No German candidate for high office would think to use the National Mall or Red Square in Moscow for a rally, because it would be seen as inappropriate,” Mr. Steg said, though he added that Mrs. Merkel welcomed Mr. Obama’s visit.

Please act appropriately.

Yours respectfully,

The Ant and the Grasshopper

There is an 'Old Version' and a 'Modern Version' ..

Two Different Versions! Two Different Morals!

OLD VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,
building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances
and plays
the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the
cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

-------------------------------------------

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,
building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances
and plays
the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference
and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well
fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the
shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home
with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor
grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and
everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green. '

Al Sharpton stages a demonstration in front of the ant' s house
where the news stations film the group singing, ' We shall overcome.'
Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's
sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Barack Obama exclaim in an interview with Larry
King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and
both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair
share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper
Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of
green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his
home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a
defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a
panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of
single-parent welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the lastbits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just
happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he
doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the
house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize
the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2008!!

Unreported: McCain in Nascar Country!

Here is an indepth story of his visit to the race:

Changering?

You have got to see this!

http://www.thechangering.com/

Now Obama supporters can accessorize....is this a pathetic attempt to try to go after the youth vote or what?

I about fell out of my chair when I ran into this. No Quarter has a nice write up on it:

http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/09/16/obama%E2%80%99s-con-job-destined...

I have to ask...

Who's idea was it to place a moveon.org banner on top of the home page here promoting Obama buttons?!? Irony.....

Google Ads

it is by google which scan what is the the web page is all about. so if google see a word Obama, it will show ads related to Obama. We all know Google donated a lot of money to Obama's campaign so we will see more of this ads.

Yes, Google

has some formula like that from what I can see. I am trying to figure out if I can keep the Moveon ads from appearing. I have no control as of now.

Nothing like getting a call from your wife at work complaining that she sees Obama and Moveon ads on your web site. LOL ;)

From an advertsing perspective, if I were Moveon or Obama I'd want more control over where ads appear. Folks on Pro McCain sites like this could maliciously cost them lots of money by clicking on all those ads.

McCain needs to stick to the real issues, and he

will win. By that I mean - connect Obama to Fannie and Freddie, all the while, showing McCain introducing legislation and calling for action on their obscene practices. Look at Obama's donors and campaign staff and show clearly the association with Fannie. Secondly, connect (in an ad) Obama's lack of experience with his judgment, ie - William Ayers, Rev. Wright, etc. (show them, one after the other)and the implications. Thirdly, talk about his views on trade, immigration and what it would mean for America and the wanning economy. Pound him (with an ad) on his voting record, from taxes to partial birth abortion. Demonstrate his associations with ethanol lobbyists and special interests and the current ethanol requirements which negatively affect the environment and impact the food supply, and display his objections to nuclear, drilling, and coal. Finally, show him in Iraq asking to delay troop withdrawals until after the election, and then display a shot of him during the primaries calling for a withdrawal. The foreign experience McCain has is gravy, but the real issues are those which effect the economy, and Obama has some prolific blotches on his skimpy record. He is vunerable, but he must be hit with real issues.
